Continuation Park

A living legacy that grows for six generations.

Premium ceremonial tree planting service for life's defining moments — birth, union, milestone, memory. With a sealed time capsule at every root.

01
CONTINUATION PARK

The opportunity we saw

Memorial gifts are stuck
between cheap and dead.

The market for "meaningful gifts" today offers two extremes.

On one side

Mass-market eco-charities sell certificates from $10–$50. A tree is planted somewhere, you get a PDF. No experience, no place to return to, no story.

On the other

Luxury memorial firms (urns, monuments, columbaria) charge €5–50k — but anchor everything to death. Cold, formal, finite.

Nothing in the market today serves premium clients who want to celebrate a living moment with a tangible legacy that will outlive them.

The customer we serve

  • HNW family welcoming a newborn
  • Couple marking a wedding or major anniversary
  • Founder marking 10/20/30-year company milestone
  • Family wishing to create a multigenerational ritual
02
CONTINUATION PARK

The idea

A tree, a capsule,
a 20-year promise.

Each ceremony plants a personal tree in a protected woodland. Beneath its roots, a sealed time capsule holds the family's letters, photographs, a voice recording, an heirloom. A notarised certificate fixes its GPS coordinates. Twenty years later — the family returns to open it.

The Tree

Hand-selected sapling. Oak, pine, linden, birch. 5+ years of expert care. IoT vitality sensor (Heritage tier+).

The Capsule

Hermetically sealed metal vault buried at root depth. Professional document conservation. 20-year unlock contract.

The Ceremony

1.5–3h private ritual at the reserve. Botanist, photographer, optional cinematographer. Notarised on-site.

Every product on the market sells a transaction. We sell a 20-year emotional contract — a date the family is anchored to, a place they will return to.

Market size

A €4B+ niche, fragmented
and underserved at the top.

Why the timing is right

  • Post-2020 shift: tangible memory, slow ritual, family time
  • Sustainability premium: clients pay 30–60% more for "real" eco-impact (BCG 2024)
  • HNW demographic peak: largest generational wealth transfer in history (~$84T by 2045)
  • Saturation of traditional gifting: jewellery, watches plateaued

Initial geographic focus

  • Year 1: single flagship reserve (EU)
  • Year 2: add Russia + Middle East partnerships
  • Year 3: 3 reserves total · UAE / US East Coast / Switzerland
  • Year 4–5: licensed franchise model in Asia Pacific

Conclusion: existing players occupy either "cheap eco-gift" or "cremation memorial". The four-pillar combination — premium ceremony + capsule + IoT + multi-generational unlock — is empty.

How we win

Five angles no competitor occupies.

1 · Life events, not death

Pivot from memorial (90% of competitors) to celebration. Birth and wedding clients are larger, repeat buyers, less price-sensitive.

2 · The 20-year hook

The unlock date creates a forced re-engagement after two decades. Highest LTV in the space — second ceremony, third tree, multi-generational customers.

3 · Premium experience design

Cinematic ritual, private concierge, on-site pavilion, notary. Nothing in the space is positioned as luxury hospitality.

4 · Defensible IP stack

Three filings planned: capsule-root construction (utility model), tree-vitality IoT system (invention), and the methodology of multi-decade ceremonial unlock.

5 · Hybrid physical + digital

Real tree + real capsule + real coordinates + private dashboard + optional NFT certificate. Veritree does B2B, no one does it for HNW B2C.

Each pillar alone exists. Their combination as a single luxury experience is uncontested globally.

Patent strategy — Part 1 / 3

What's already patented
by competitors.

Existing IP in the memorial-tree space concentrates on biodegradable urn constructions for cremated remains. None covers life-event ceremonies, time capsules, or multi-decade contracts.

Patent / IP Holder Coverage Blocks us?
US 10,376,435 B2 (2019) Biolife LLC
(The Living Urn)
Biodegradable urn-and-tree planting system using cremated remains as nutrient base. No — we use no remains; capsule is separate from sapling roots.
EP 3 010 854 B1 Estudimoline / Bios Urn Biodegradable funerary urn with seed germination chamber. No — non-funerary use, no germination chamber.
WO 2017/164774 Capsula Mundi (IT) Egg-shaped pod for body burial as soil for tree. No — not a body-burial pod.
Veritree platform Veritree Inc (CA) Blockchain-based reforestation verification (B2B carbon). No — different stack and customer.
"Memorial tree" trademarks Several Trademarked phrases in US/EU classes 35 & 41. Manageable — our brand "Continuation Park" is clear.

Conclusion: the field is patentable. No prior art covers the integrated combination of (capsule + IoT + ceremony + multi-decade unlock). Filing window is open.

CONTINUATION PARK

Patent strategy — Part 2 / 3

Three filings to defend the moat.

FILING #1 · UTILITY MODEL

Root-zone capsule construction

What: Hermetic chamber positioned at root collar with thermal-passive design, gas-exchange membrane, archival paper preservation.

Where: RU (Rospatent), EAEU, EU (EPO).

Why this first: fastest path (6–12 months in RU), lowest cost (~₽40k state fee), defends the most visible asset.

Cost: €4–8k · TTL: 10 years renewable

FILING #2 · INVENTION

Tree-vitality IoT system

What: Soil sensor + radio module + cloud relay specifically calibrated for individual specimen monitoring with multi-decade battery design and family-dashboard alerts.

Where: PCT international filing → EU + US national phase.

Why: highest defensibility against tech entrants (incl. Veritree pivots).

Cost: €18–35k · TTL: 20 years

FILING #3 · METHOD + TRADEMARK

Method of multi-decade ceremonial unlock + brand

What: Trademarks (Continuation Park / Парк продолжения) classes 35, 41, 44; method patent on the capsule-unlock notarised contract.

Where: Madrid System (international trademark), national patents EU/RU/UAE.

Why: brand is the long-term moat; method covers the business mechanic.

Cost: €6–12k · TTL: 10 years renewable

Total filing program: €28–55k over 18 months. Recommended sequence: TM → Utility → Invention.

Strategic notes

Trust architecture

How we earn a 20-year yes.

The single hardest question a customer asks: "How do I know you'll still be here in twenty years?" Our answer is four independent layers of structural guarantees — none of which rely on the operating company surviving.

LAYER 01

Independent Foundation

Land and obligations held by a Stiftung. Outlives the company. Private bankers recognise the structure.

LAYER 02

Notary custody

GPS + unlock instructions with an independent notary. Retrievable by the family with a single notarised request.

LAYER 03

Lloyd's insurance

Specialist policy underwrites tree mortality and capsule loss. If anything fails, the insurer pays — not us.

LAYER 04

Multi-site continuity

Three reserves by 2027. Capsules transfer between sisters — with full ceremony — at no cost if any single site closes.

Trust is not a marketing statement — it is a structural outcome. Four layers, zero exposure to a single point of failure. Every HNW customer understands this instantly.

Plus: 30-day full refund · 97% survival guarantee · free re-ceremony on loss · transferability to another family at any time.

11
CONTINUATION PARK

Pricing psychology

Why €1 490 will feel like a bargain.

1 · Transparent decomposition

Every euro mapped. "Where does the money go" becomes a trust lever, not a question.

Sapling + botanist planting€280
Sealed capsule + conservation€310
Notary + foundation registry€170
IoT sensor + cloud 5y€240
Ceremony team€280
Active care 5y€120
100 reforestation trees€90
Heritage total€1 490

2 · Anchor against luxury, not charity

  • Wedding cake €800 — eaten in a day
  • Wedding photographer €3 000 — viewed 30 years
  • Premium stroller €4 000 — used 2 years
  • Heritage tree €1 490 — grows 500 years

3 · Fraction the number

€1 490 one-time
€124 / month for a year
→ €15 / year over 100 years
→ €1.50 per year per descendant (10 heirs)

4 · Decoy anchor (€25 000 tier)

Founders Grove at €25k makes €1 490 feel like the reasonable middle. Classic decoy effect (Ariely). Sells 1–5 units/yr as pure margin.

5 · Progressive commitment ladder

  • Free VR tour → qualifying step
  • Free 30-min call → trust built
  • €100 site visit → first skin in the game (credited)
  • Heritage ceremony → €1 490 feels natural

6 · Reframe expense → investment

  • Carbon credits accumulate → tangible asset
  • NFT with history → tradeable collectible
  • Tax-deductible through foundation
  • Heirloom appreciates emotionally + financially

Risk matrix

What could go wrong, and how we're hedging.

Tree mortality

A dead tree breaks the entire emotional contract.

Mitigation: 2-year botanist warranty, free re-ceremony, 97% survival rate validated.

20-year operational risk

Will the company exist when the capsule opens?

Mitigation: Foundation/trust structure + insurance + capsule independent retrievability via notary (GPS coordinates fixed).

Competitor copies the model

Bios Urn or Living Urn pivots upmarket.

Mitigation: 18-month patent program. Brand and reserve location are non-replicable. First-mover advantage in HNW segment.

Land-use / jurisdiction risk

Country regulations change for protected woodlands.

Mitigation: Multi-jurisdiction expansion (3 countries by Y3). Long-term lease + nature-conservation NGO partnership.
